Private-site notice. Talbot County Released Inmates is not a government office and cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, retrieve an official booking record, or change an agency file. Contact the government office responsible for the record or custody event.
Official Records and Custody Contacts
The correct contact depends on where the person was held and which fact needs confirmation. The Talbot County Sheriff's Office is the local starting point for jail custody, booking, transfer, and release records. Courts hold the orders and dispositions behind many releases. Georgia state prison records belong to the Georgia Department of Corrections, while the Department of Community Supervision serves many people on felony probation or parole after release.

GDC Open Records
Use GDC for someone sentenced to Georgia state prison or for state corrections release and discharge records. GDC says its open-records office provides an initial response within three business days. Its published terms list non-medical copies at $0.10 per page and search or redaction labor at the rate of the lowest-paid qualified employee. Those GDC terms should not be applied to Talbot County or federal requests.

The Columbus Field Office serves Talbot County for state community supervision. Contact DCS for local field-office routing involving felony probation or parole. Use the Parole Board for parole decisions and the sentencing court for probation orders.
These starting points cover the main record paths:
- For a named-person release search or a written local release record, use the Talbot County release search and sheriff request steps.
- For parole or felony probation after release, use Post-Release Supervision and the Columbus DCS office.
- For same-day questions, the 24-Hour Releases page explains the official fallback because no county feed was verified.
- For a projected state or federal date, use the Release Date Lookup and the system that holds the person.
- For a specific participating-agency alert, use the VINE Inmate Check; it does not replace the originating record.
- For federal prison, federal pretrial, or immigration custody, use the BOP, USMS, or ICE facility pages listed below.
